Yankees Vs. Twins, ALDS Game 3: Jorge Posada Singles Home Robinson Cano As Yankees Strike First

The first nine outs of Saturday's nightcap flew by, as Phil Hughes worked a perfect first and a perfect second, and Brian Duensing worked around a leadoff single by Derek Jeter in the first to toss a scoreless frame.

The Yankees were able to push the first run of the game across in the second, however. Robinson Cano led off with a deep fly ball off the center field fence, and he scampered 270 feet around for a triple. After a Marcus Thames pop out, Jorge Posada came through by grounding a first-pitch changeup through the hole and into left field. The single drove Cano home, and though Curtis Granderson bounced into an inning-ending double play, it's 1-0 Yankees after two innings of work.
