Phil Hughes was sitting in the dugout for an awful long time while the Yankees were busy scoring three runs in the bottom of the fourth against two different pitchers. And it looked like he was a little bit rusty when he came out for the top of the fifth, as he fell behind leadoff hitter Jason Kubel, allowed a line drive single to Delmon Young, and walked Jim Thome. Unfortunately for the Twins, that was as far as they'd get, as Hughes slammed the door by striking out Michael Cuddyer and getting Danny Valencia to pop up a mile high on a full count.

It’s still 5-0 Yankees at the halfway point, and the Twins may have blown their one opportunity to get involved. Hughes is at 72 pitches.
