Francisco Liriano’s Exit From Twins-Tigers Game Reportedly Due To Illness
Minutes after Twins pitcher Francisco Liriano left Friday night’s game, the team is saying that the team pulled him because of an illness. From the Star Tribune’s Joe Christenson:
Interestingly, the Twins’ Alexi Casilla is out of the game for the same reason. Assuming the illness isn’t serious, it’s good news for Twins fans that an injury wasn’t sustained, as the team will be in the postseason within two weeks.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Liriano appeared to tweak something while throwing a pitch. After making a couple of practice throws, the decision was made to remove Liriano from the game. He had given up two runs to the Tigers in three-plus innings.
In 2010, Liriano has a 3.44 ERA for the playoff-bound Twins, who, during a red-hot September, have the best record in baseball.
