Turns out the answer is: fast. Rodriguez threw a side session on Friday morning, and everything went off without a hitch. What that means is that he’s now scheduled to make his next start, next Tuesday. Assuming no more problems, Rodriguez should have no issue breaking camp with the team and starting the second game of the season.

Rodriguez signed a three-year contract with the Astros just this offseason. The 32-year-old southpaw owns a career 4.18 ERA, and has no history of major shoulder problems. His ERA over the past three seasons is 3.36, making him one of the more underrated arms in the National League.
