Miami Mayor Finances Ballpark, Gets Recalled

It would be oh-so-wonderful to report that Miami Mayor Carlos Alvarez was recalled yesterday because he gave the Florida Marlins $500 million for their new ballpark.

↵Alas, that probably wasn’t it. For one thing, Alvarez’s ouster was supported by 88 percent of those citizens who bothered to cast ballots. And for another, there was no shortage of recallable offenses (the BMW was a really nice touch). It’s just too bad there aren’t worse things that can happen to guys like this.
