Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Corey Hart strained his oblique early in spring, and while it wasn't thought to be a big deal at the time, he wound up missing all of camp. Now, though - finally - it seems Hart is feeling better and is on the verge of a return. Notes Tom Haudricourt:
Corey Hart Over Injury, Set To Begin Rehab Assignment
Brewers RF Corey Hart will begin rehab assignment Tuesday with AAA Nashville.
It’s unknown how long Hart will be rehabbing, but it shouldn’t be more than a couple weeks. Which means the Brewers will soon welcome the slugger back into their everyday lineup.
A year ago, Hart broke out, batting .283 with 31 home runs and an .865 OPS. In his absence, the Brewers have given extra playing time to guys like Mark Kotsay and Erick Almonte, which has worked out about as well as you'd expect it to. The Brewers are currently ninth in the National League in team OPS, but Hart's return should help them climb much closer to the top.
