Corey Hart, sidelined since spring training with an oblique injury, has joined the Brewers and will be activated from the disabled list Wednesday.
Corey Hart Coming Off DL Wednesday
Hart just completed a five-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville and went just 2-for-15, but apparently is swinging the bat well enough to help the big club. In his absence, Mark Kotsay has been getting most of the playing time in right field, which has gone about as well as anyone could have expected.
Nyjer Morgan did play well in right field, but he’s on the DL so the Brewers really can use Hart’s talents. They’ve played reasonably well (11-11) thus far, but there’s reason for real optimism once Hart’s back in the lineup and Zack Greinke finally joins the rotation.
After subpar 2008 and ’09 campaigns, Hart bounced back last season with the best season of his career, including 31 home runs and 102 RBI. You know. Mark Kotsay numbers.
