The 65th Annual Little League World Series will be broadcast live on ESPN beginning Thursday.

The 2011 Little League World Series begins on Thursday. A good amount of the annual international tournament’s schedule, in its 65th year, is being broadcast on television via the ESPN family of networks.

The teams, consisting of 11 and 12 year old players, will play a double-elimination style tournament in South Willamsport, Penn., to determine which country can be considered to have the best Little League teams in the world.

Update: Scores From Thursday's Games

ESPN’s coverage begins 1 p.m. ET with a match-up bet Asia-Pacific and Mexico. Immediately following that game, USA team’s representing the Midwest and Northwest will take the field. The Midwest team is from Rapid City, S.D., while the Northwest team is traveling from Billings, Mont.

Thursday’s third game will be a match-up between a team from the Caribbean versus Japan’s representatives at 5 p.m. That game will be broadcast on ESPN 2.

The opening day’s final game will begin at 8 p.m. in another battle of United States’ participants as the Southeast and Southwest Little League teams battle on ESPN. The Southeast team hails from Warner Robins, Ga., whereas the Southwest team comes from Lafayette, La.

A full schedule can be found at the league’s official website.
