Andy Pettitte injury: Yankees pitcher leaves game in 5th
Andy Pettitte threw 79 pitches before making an early exit on Thursday night. What was the issue?
Pettitte’s condition is undisclosed at this time, but something didn’t sit right with the veteran southpaw on his final pitch of the evening. A fifth-inning grimace was not what Yankee fans wanted to see.
He didn’t have his best stuff against the Mariners, allowing four hits, three walks and two earned runs in 4⅔ innings of work. Pettitte did manage to record five strikeouts before making his exit, though.
New York trailed Seattle 2-1 when Pettitte came off the mound.
