2013 MLB Draft results: Rob Kaminsky selected by Cardinals with the No. 28 pick
The Cardinals selected LHP Rob Kaminsky with the No. 28 overall pick of the 2013 MLB Draft. Kaminsky has tremendous command for a high schooler.
Kaminsky doesn’t look like your normal highly-touted pitcher, standing just 5’11, but he is strong and left-handed. The southpaw doesn’t have an overpowering fastball, but he works in the low-90s and is exceptionally polished for a high schooler. His command is great, and he has a devastating curveball to go with a usable changeup.
Kaminsky’s downside is that he doesn’t have a lot of room to grow. His short stature and mature build means he has tapped into a lot of his potential already, so he isn’t expected to add much velocity as he passes out of his teens.
Kaminsky is committed to North Carolina, but most expect him to forego college and sign.
