Yusmeiro Petit has perfect game through 8 innings
The right-hander has thrown only 81 pitches through eight innings against the Diamondbacks.

In the 8th inning, Petit struck out Martin Prado on four pitches, induced a popout by Aaron Hill, and got Miguel Montero to ground out to first base. Both of the no-hitters in the majors this season have involved the Giants -- Tim Lincecum no-hit the Padres on July 13, and Cincinnati’s Homer Bailey no-hit San Francisco on July 2. The Giants were also involved in a perfect game last year, as Matt Cain performed the feat against the Houston Astros on June 13, 2012. The Diamondbacks were last no-hit by Anibal Sanchez (then of the Florida Marlins) in 2006.
The bottom of the lineup is due up in the 9th: Chris Owings, Gerardo Parra, and the pitcher’s spot (currently held by Patrick Corbin).
The Giants lead the game, 3-0.
