The Dodgers continue to be an absolutely absurd team. Their rough outing behind Rich Hill on Wednesday night aside, they’ve pretty much kept on rolling over opponents. With a 20-3 July and a 15-5 August to follow that, Los Angeles has hit the 90-win mark before anyone else in the league.
The Dodgers reached 90 wins. It’s August 24. That’s preposterous.
They’re only the third team in history to hit that mark by this date.

They did it on August 24th. That’s an absolutely preposterous pace.
For perspective, the only other teams to do that in the history of baseball were the 1998 Yankees and the 2001 Mariners. In the last 117 years, there were only a dozen other teams to have 90 wins through 126 games regardless of date, a further breakdown of which can be found here.
This is the fastest Dodgers team in franchise history to reach this win total as well, beating the previous record by a fully five games.
No other team in the league right now has 80 wins, with the next closest being the 77-win Astros.
This mark also puts the Dodgers on pace to tie the major league record of 116 wins in a single season, which seems more-than-attainable right now but is bonkers to imagine at the same time.
LA manager Dave Roberts had the most legitimate and realistic response to hitting the mark: “I like wins.”
Who doesn’t, Dave? Who doesn’t?
