Bellator 35 Results: Zoila Frausto And Paul Ruiz Victorious In Preliminary Action
Paul Ruiz made quick work of Jesus Castro, forcing referee Jason McCoy to stop the bout due to strikes at 1:17 of round number one. Paul Ruiz was making his professional MMA debut, while Jesus Castro drops to 0-2 to start his career.
In the second preliminary bout, Zoila Frausto defeated Karina Hallinan by unanimous decision. All three judges scored the bout 30-27 for Frausto, the current Bellator women’s champion at 115 pounds. “The Warrior Princess” won last season’s women’s tournament, defeating Megumi Fujii in the finals. The win improves her record to 11-1.
