The first title bout on the line at Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson was a 135lbs tilt between champion Marloes Coenen and Liz Carmouche. Carmouche was coming in as a late replacement. This was Coenen's first title defense of this belt.

ROUND 1 - The fighters exchange leg kicks early, Coenen getting the best of them. Carmoche gets nailed with a counter right by Coenen as she attempts a leg kick. Carmouche appears to be jabbing up on the much taller Coenen. Same thing happens again as Carmouche attempts a leg kick. Overhand right from Coenen misses. Inside leg kick now from Coenen. Double underhooks for Carmouche as the fighters jockey on the fence. The referee separates them. Carmouche still having issues standing, but is flowing much more. Coenen lands two push kicks.

ROUND 2 - Both fighters exchanged leg kicks right off the bat. Carmouche bullies Coenen into the fence. Carmouche drops down for a takedown and almost gets guillotined. Carmouche manages to pull out and is now working in Coenen’s guard. Attempted armbar by Coenen is met with a monster punch from Carmouche on top. Carmouche stands, throws Coenen’s legs by and moves to side control, almost north-south. Carmouche tries to jump position and in a failed scramble actually gets to mount. Carmouche pounding on the champion now.

ROUND 3 - The fighters clinch and jockey along the fence. Now the ladies trade foot stomps. Now Coenen with double underhooks against the fence. Now Carmouche with double underhooks and she gets the takedown into side control. Carmouche moves to 3/4 mount and mount again. Carmouche is pounding on Coenen from mount now with Coenen barely able to do anything.

ROUND 4 - Coenen shows great balance off a trip takedown from Carmouche and lands on top. Coenen steps back and as Carmouche sits up she gets a single leg takedown, but as Coenen went to the floor she controlled hand position and worked a high guard into a triangle attempt. After some initial struggling, Carmouche taps.
