Strikeforce Results: Dan Henderson Stops Rafael ‘Feijao’ Cavalcante In Third Round

The main event of the evening for Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson was the light heavyweight title defense. Champion Rafael Cavalcante defended his title against former two-time Olympian Dan Henderson. The fight is set for five five-minute rounds.

ROUND 3 - Hard leg kick from Feijao starts the round. Henderson fires a monster right hand after two small leg kicks and Feijao is hurt badly. Henderson follows up with punches after putting the hooks in and just unloads. Feijao has no opportunity to even recover. Referee Dan Miragliotta stops the fight as Feijao is unable to respond.

This is a huge win for the 40-year old former PRIDE champion. It's also a nice pick up for Strikeforce to have a well-known, marketable name in Henderson to help push the promotion forward. It's also probably a good reminder that Henderson should not have participated in the heavyweight grand prix as his talents are better served at light heavyweight.

Strikeforce results: Dan Henderson defeated Rafael 'Feijao' Cavalcante by TKO (strikes) at :50 of round three.
