Mark Martin, Joey Logano Begin To Pressure Jamie McMurray After Martinsville

Jamie McMurray can’t rest just yet.

Though he has a triple-digit lead in the “Best Of The Rest Cup” point standings – our competition to see which non-Chase driver collects the most points in the Chase – McMurray needs to be wary of the red-hot Joey Logano (four top-11 finishes in the last five races) and Mark Martin (five straight top-15s).

Martin’s second-place finish at Martinsville was the first time the veteran had placed in the top three all season – a lengthy drought considering he won five races last year.

McMurray finished 11th at Martinsville, just missing out on being a part of four non-Chasers in the top 10: Martin (second), Logano (sixth), Dale Earnhardt Jr. (seventh) and Brad Keselowski (10th).

The 10th-place finish was Keselowski’s first top-10 since joining Penske Racing.

As a reminder, points are tabulated in a Chase format (all drivers were reset at zero before New Hampshire) and the winner gets a red plastic cup with a beverage of their choice.
