Kansas: Ryan Newman Chips Away At Jamie McMurray’s Lead; RPM Drivers Closing In

Though his “Best Of The Rest” Cup rivals keep getting closer, Jamie McMurray has the lead in our competition of the 13th-43rd drivers in the Sprint Cup Series.

We reset everyone’s points before New Hampshire (and added 10 bonus points per pre-Chase win), then let the drivers loose. Each week, we tally whatever points they collected in the Sprint Cup race and add it to their Best Of The Rest Cup total.

Don’t forget, the non-Chasers are competing for our coveted prize: A red plastic Solo cup that will be filled with a beer of their choice.

So far, it seems McMurray is the thirstiest driver. He’s led every week, but his advantage has been trimmed a bit after Kansas (and he can’t shake those pesky Richard Petty Motorsports drivers).

And never fear, Junior Nation: Dale Earnhardt Jr. is still within 100 points of the lead.

The standings after Week 3:
