It doesn’t pay to speak your mind in NASCAR.
Report: Brad Keselowski Issued Secret NASCAR Fine For Comments
↵Actually, it does – in the form of secret fines.
↵The Associated Press reported Thursday afternoon that Brad Keselowski has been fined what is believed to be $25,000 for publicly criticizing NASCAR’s move to Electronic Fuel Injection (read Keselowski’s comments here).
↵NASCAR spokesman Kerry Tharp told the AP: “We did talk to Brad following his recent comments that were highly critical of the series moving to electronic fuel injection next season. We made it clear to him that these kind of comments are detrimental to the sport, and we handled it accordingly with him.”
↵Other secret fines (that we know about) for driver comments in the past year have included financial penalties to Denny Hamlin and Ryan Newman.
