Team owner Richard Childress has caught a lot of flak for his actions last weekend at Kansas Speedway. Many believe his actions were not an appropriate way a NASCAR team owner should act, yet Richard Childress Racing drivers Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick are glad to have Childress in their corner.
Clint Bowyer And Kevin Harvick Enjoy Having Richard Childress On Their Side
Here is what they had to say about Childress:
Kevin Harvick:
Richard is one of those guys that has driven the race cars and understands what comes with being inside the car – the frustrations. A lot of the times Richard sides with the drivers, more times than not. In our competition meetings, on the race track, off the race track and always has our back. We’ve all got his back and as you can tell he has ours. It’s fun to drive for a guy that has the passion and desire to do what you have to do to be a part of this sport. He’s a great guy and I’m proud of his team.
Clint Bowyer:
His passion I think is the biggest thing for this sport. He takes a lot of pride in having success in this sport. He takes it very seriously. Here is a man that is 65 years old and still every bit as big a part of this sport and our organization as he was when it started and probably even more. We’ve got close to 500 employees and he works very hard to make sure all of them have a job. I think that’s the biggest thing, his passion for this sport is second to none. He doesn’t let anything get in the way of his dreams and making it a reality.
