It's NASCAR race day at Pocono Raceway, and we've got the actual race start time, the starting lineup and some other facts about the 5-Hour Energy 500 for you below.
Start time: The command to start engines will be given at 1:07 p.m. Eastern time. After a few pace laps, the green flag will wave at precisely 1:18 p.m. Eastern. So if you want to skip the pre-race show and just tune in for the actual race, flip your TV on at 1:18.
Race name/distance: Insert your own joke here about the name of Pocono's race today, but it's called the 5-Hour Energy 500. The name seems appropriate, since some fans and media would claim viewers need a 5-Hour Energy drink just to make it through a marathon Pocono race. Or it could be argued that Pocono races all seem as if they're five hours long. Anyway, the race is 200 laps around the 2.5-mile triangular track, which means it's 500 long miles.
TV and radio: FOX's portion of the season is finished, so TNT kicks off its six-race stint broadcasting NASCAR Sprint Cup races beginning today. For more information on what channel TNT is on, contact your cable/satellite provider (it varies by location). The radio broadcast can be found on your local Motor Racing Network (MRN) affiliate. Click here to see a list of MRN stations where you can listen.
National anthem: It's hard to go wrong with a military-related anthem singer or group, and Pocono has chosen the USO's "Liberty Bells" to perform the anthem today.
Tickets: Pocono is not traditionally a sellout, and there are still tickets available if you're thinking of making the journey to the "Tricky Triangle" today.
Weather: According to the unofficial NASCAR weatherman, Sunday will see clouds with some sun and the possibility of an early thunderstorm or rain shower.
Last time: Denny Hamlin won last spring's Pocono race, which finished under caution after a huge crash on the white flag lap that took out Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne, among others. Greg Biffle then won the fall race at Pocono.
