The much-anticipated sequel to Cars hit theaters Friday and it was all my nearly 3-year-old daughter was able to talk about for an entire week.
Cars 2 Review: Short On Racing Action, But Big On Family Fun
So this morning, my family piled into the car and headed to the theater to see the latestest installment: Cars 2.
Here is what Abigail had to say after the movie:
Unlike the first film, the real star of Cars 2 is Lightning McQueen’s best friend, Mater. Throughout his adventure of being confused for an international spy, Mater figures out others see him as a fool and has a realization about himself.
While McQueen is busy competing in an international race of champions – much more exciting than the former IROC series – that goes from Japan, Italy and London, Mater is busy saving his friend and the other race cars from a diabolical plan to sabotage the race.
Underneath the competitiveness of Lightning McQueen and Francesco Bernoulli (the Formula One car), the theme of cleaner fuels is quite prominent. All of the cars competing in the World Grand Prix are required to use a cleaner-burning fuel called Allinol.
The car working to sabotage the race has discovered the world’s largest oil reserve and attempts to prove to the world a clean-burning fuel is bad for engines.
The racing action is not what it was in the first movie, but the overall action is much more exciting throughout and keeps even the youngest viewers engaged. The kids will enjoy the bright lights and fast-paced shots, and the entire family will walk away wanting more.
