Robby Gordon To Dakar Rally Officials: ‘Kiss My Ass’

After winning Stage 12 of the Dakar Rally in Peru on Friday, Robby Gordon had a simple message for the race officials who accused him of having an illegal air inflation system in his vehicle.

“Kiss. My. Ass!” he said during a live race broadcast covering his stage victory (you can see the video below).

Gordon is pissed because he was having a competitive Dakar Rally until officials disqualified him last week after an inspection. But Gordon insists his system was within the rules and provided no advantage, and even won Friday’s stage without using the part.

The NASCAR driver/team owner is running the rest of the rally under appeal – and will do so without a vacuum system in his car, the team said.

“Winning by 15 minutes with our system that was plugged just proves our point that it had no advantage,” he said. “I’m quite confident that we’ll win our appeal and put it all behind us. From here on out, I’m going to try to win every stage.”

Gordon is in fourth place and sits one hour and 44 minutes behind the leaders with two days remaining.
