The NASCAR fans have spoken and the format for the Sprint Unlimited exhibition race has been announced for the season-opening event on Saturday evening.

Fans had the power to choose how the Sprint Unlimited exhibition race will take place, and they decided on a 30 lap, 25 lap and 20 lap format. Voting is still open for the two more remaining categories.

Fan voting ended Wednesday at midnight to decide the length of the race’s three segments at Daytona Beach, the first component of the fan voting. With 55 percent of the votes, the Sprint Unlimited is set at 30 laps, 25 laps and 20 laps.
There are still two different elements of the race that fan voting will decide. Voting ends the moment the green flag drops at the start of the first segment to decide the type of pit stop each car must make after the first segment. The choices are requiring a four-tire pit stop, a two-tire pit stop or no pit stop at all.
The other remaining voting decision ends at the start of the second segment. The fans will decide how many cars are eliminated after the second segment, with choices being zero, two, four and six.
Voting for the two remaining open categories can be cast on NASCAR’s official mobile app or online at NASCAR.com/sprintunlimited. All votes cast through the mobile app will count twice.
