NASCAR at Texas Motor Speedway 2013: Lineup, starting grid for NRA 500

A couple of Busches start at the top of the grid Saturday.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The Busch brothers will start one-two at the NRA 500 at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday night. Neither has won an event so far this Sprint Cup season.

Kyle Busch won the pole with a qualifying speed of 196.299 miles per hour, the only entrant to top 196 during qualifying. Kyle was also Friday night’s champion of the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 on the Nationwide Series.

Kurt Busch will start the race just behind his brother. Kurt qualified in second with a speed of 195.688 mph. Aric Almirola, Marcos Ambrose and Martin Truex Jr. round out the top five on Saturday night’s grid.

Dale Earnhardt Jr., who hasn’t won a race yet this season but is in third in the Sprint Cup standings, has the sixth spot. Points leader Jimmie Johnson, who has won two races so far this season including Feb. 24’s Daytona 500, will start seventh in Saturday’s race.

Last season’s NRA 500 champion was Bill Biffle. He qualified in 35th of 43 cars on the grid with a speed of 190.921 mph.

The NRA 500 begins Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
