Dale Earnhardt Jr. to have Superman-themed paint scheme at Michigan

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will race a Superman “Man of Steel” paint scheme this weekend at Michigan.

With a margin of victory a whopping 5.3-seconds, Dale Earnhardt Jr. looked like a superhero last year at Michigan International Speedway when he snapped his four-year winless streak.

Fittingly, he was driving a Batman-themed The Dark Knight Rises paint scheme.

NASCAR’s most popular driver is looking to repeat the feat again this weekend at Michigan with another superhero-inspired paint scheme. But instead of having the Caped Crusader on the side of his Chevrolet, he will carry a design promoting the upcoming Superman movie Man of Steel.

Earnhardt’s regular sponsor, the National Guard, is using Man of Steel as a tie-in to promote their “Soldier of Steel” recruiting campaign. The slogan will be written on the side of the No. 88 car with the symbolic Superman ‘S’ logo placed prominently on the hood.

Man of Steel is released in theatres Friday.
