In recent years, this unpredictable event has shown it can turn the leaderboard on its head, but Jimmie Johnson will look to retain his grip on the top of the standings. Johnson holds a 31-point lead over Carl Edwards, but that could change this weekend. He last won at Sonoma in 2010, and has two top-ten finishes in each of the last two years. Meanwhile, Edwards finished third last year — but doesn’t have a great history on the track, totaling only three top-ten results in eight races.
