What may be racing’s most intense feud boiled over Saturday night at Bowman Gray Stadium. And the aftermath saw one participant suspended for the rest of the season.
Racing feud escalates at Bowman Gray Stadium
A week after one driver flung another into the wall, the madness continued at Bowman Gray Stadium Saturday night.

The theatrics begin a week ago when Derek Stoltz spun out Bryant Robertson as the two raced for the lead.
Later Mike Robertson, Bryant’s brother, attempted to climb into the passenger side window of Stoltz’s car. Stoltz promptly responded by attempting to drive Robertson into the wall.
Bryant Robertson still seeking retribution escalated the feud Saturday night when, according to the Winston-Salem Journal, he intentionally drove into Stoltz under caution. Track officials immediately suspended Robertson for the remainder of the 2013 season.
Affectionately known as “The Madhouse,” the quarter-mile track has a long history of producing these types of incidents. The Winston-Salem, N.C. short track was the subject of a History Channel reality show a few years back that featured the colorful personalities that compete at Bowman Gray on a weekly basis.
