NASCAR All-Star Race 2014 qualifying results: Carl Edwards fastest in wild qualifying session
Mistake-free on the track and in the pits, Carl Edwards sped to the pole for Saturday night’s NASCAR All-Star Race.

The unique format saw drivers make three laps around the 1.5-mile oval along with a required pit stop for four tires. Unlike in a race, however, NASCAR waived the speed limit, creating the common sight of drivers overshooting their pit boxes due to an excessive amount of speed.
Among those who found trouble on pit road: Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin, Brian Vickers and Ryan Newman. Stewart broke his transmission trying to back up into his stall and will have to make repairs before the 9:27 p.m. ET start time.
