It’s going to be a long and busy week at Charlotte Motor Speedway, a week following NASCAR’s annual all-star race, and it will wrap up with the running of the season’s longest race. The Coca Cola 600 highlights Memorial Day weekend, but there will be plenty of action leading up to it.
NASCAR Charlotte 2014 schedule: Coca Cola 600 highlights busy weekend
Both the Sprint Cup Series and Nationwide series will be in action over the weekend.

Known as perhaps the most grueling and demanding race of the NASCAR calendar, the 600-mile affair begins in broad daylight, but track conditions change as the sun sets and the lights come out. A forecast calling for 90-degree heat on Sunday won’t make things any easier.
Qualifying for the 600 will take place on Thursday. The green flag for the main event will drop at about 6 p.m. ET on Sunday, kicking off the quest to unseat last year’s winner, Kevin Harvick.
Saturday will feature the History 300, the 200-lap Nationwide Series undercard race. Both the qualifier and the race itself will be run that day.
