2014 NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 Weather forecast: Sunny weekend

The weather forecast for the Coca-Cola 600 is mostly dry but will Mother Nature try to make it interesting?

I continue to keep the NASCAR Memorial Day weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway mostly dry, but it looks like Mother Nature will at least try to make it somewhat interesting. There is no weather concerns for today’s Sprint Cup practice, Nationwide qualifying and race. There will be plenty of sunshine, nice and warm temperatures with no concern of rain.

Sunday’s forecast is about the same with mostly sunny skies and nice, warm temperatures but it’s Sunday evening that starts to look more interesting. While I feel the odds of it raining on Sunday are less than 20 percent and the likelihood of racing and finishing all 600 miles of the Coca-Cola 600 is around 100 percent, there is a chance of a scattered shower or isolated storms Sunday evening.

Stalled boundary will stay south of Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend, but may move a little farther north Sunday evening into Monday. While the threat of is not high that boundary will need to be watched as we get into the Coca-Cola 600 later Sunday evening.
