NASCAR Charlotte 2014: Start time, TV schedule for Coca-Cola 600

Jimmie Johnson looks to pick up his first win of the season this weekend at Charlotte.

The Coca-Cola 600 from Charlotte is set for Sunday afternoon, and it will be Jimmie Johnson sitting in the pole position as he looks to win his first race of the season.

Johnson won the pole position after an impressive showing in qualifying earlier in the week. Even without a victory this season and 13 straight winless races dating back to last year, NASCAR’s six-time champion still sits in seventh place in the Sprint Cup Series Standings thanks to a couple of top-five finishes. Johnson appears to be back on the top of his game and heads into Sunday as one of the favorites to take down the checkered flag.

Brad Keselowski will start from the No. 2 spot on the starting line. Kasey Kahne and Danica Patrick begin from the second row. Points leader Jeff Gordon didn’t fare too well in qualifying with an unimpressive lap of 189.673 to start the race in 24th. Gordon is 15 points ahead of Matt Kenseth in the Sprint Cup Series after 11 races.

As for the race itself, all of the action will begin at 5:30 p.m. ET on FOX with pre-race coverage. The green flag is scheduled to wave at 6 p.m. Mike Joy, Darrell Waltrip and Larry McReynolds will call the action from the booth. Steve Brynes, Matt Yocum and Krista Voda will keep an eye on things from the pit and report back.

TV: FOX

Green Flag: 6 p.m.

Announcers: Mike Joy, Darrell Waltrip, Larry McReynolds
