We will experience typical “typical” Florida weather this weekend at Daytona International Speedway for the Coke Zero 400. What is typical Florida weather? Mostly-to-partly-sunny days, hot and humid with highs near 90. If you’ve ever been to Florida in the summer, then you know a spot shower or storm is likely at anytime during the afternoon. These storms leave as quickly as they form and are more miss than hit.
NASCAR At Daytona 2014: Coke Zero 400 weather forecast
Florida in July means the weather will be hot and humid with isolated afternoon thunderstorms. The question is will these storms cause problems for NASCAR this weekend.
If this forecast looks similar to last year, it is. Scattered showers and storms are likely later today and again Saturday afternoon. Once the sun starts to go down these showers and storms will end. While a storm is possible close to race time for both the Nationwide and Sprint Cup series races, the likelihood of these showers postponing the race to another day seems very low. If a storm or two move over Daytona International Speedway there could be delays but I fully expect racing.
