The general manager of New Hampshire Motor Speedway was arrested last week for lewdness. WMUR-TV first reported the story.
New Hampshire track executive arrested for lewdness

Jerry Gappens, 53, New Hampshire’s executive vice president and general manager since 2008, was observed Jan. 21 in an alleged “act of lewdness” taking place in a vehicle, according to a statement by Manchester (N.H.) police. Police were monitoring illicit activities in the early evening when they witnessed 19-year-old Kendra Johnson getting into Gappens’ SUV. Police followed the vehicle to a parking lot where they then observed the alleged act.
Gappens and Johnson were charged with lewdness, a misdemeanor. Gappens will appear in court Feb. 25.
Gappens’ attorney issued a statement made available to SB Nation:
”Mr. Gappens acknowledges using poor judgment that has resulted in a misdemeanor charge that is both embarrassing and devastating to him and his family, and for that, he sincerely apologizes.
“He regrets his actions. While he made a bad decision, he did not, in my opinion, engage in conduct that violates the referenced statute or any other criminal law. Mr. Gappens cooperated fully with the police, and we hope to have this difficult situation resolved soon.”
According to the track’s website, Gappens and his wife and daughter reside in Bedford, N.H. He also has two adult sons who live in North Carolina.
