NASCAR race day weather forecast at Charlotte Motor Speedway: Can we race Saturday night?
Saturday is going to be wet across southern North Carolina but will rain clear out in time for the Sprint Cup race?

A cold front will work across North Carolina on Saturday. Along this cold front a storm system will form and also move through Georgia up into South Carolina and spread more rain and thunderstorms for the day on Saturday. Bulk of the rain will fall Saturday morning and into Saturday afternoon as these two systems move through.
By Saturday evening I am anticipating the rain to start to taper off and end over Charlotte between 7 p.m. ET and 9 p.m. It could be done earlier but a little concerned about some lingering drizzle as we go into the evening hours. The NASCAR Sprint Cup race is scheduled to start around 7 p.m. and with any lingering rain or showers there could be a delay to the start of the race. Even with a possible delay I give the odds of racing Saturday night to be between 80 and 90 percent.
I know NASCAR will do all it can to get the race started and finished. After 8 p.m. it really looks like the threat off rain greatly decreases, because of that I feel pretty confident NASCAR can and will go racing Saturday night.
