As Kurt Busch continues to serve a suspension, Regan Smith will drive the Stewart-Haas Racing No. 41 car at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

This will mark the second consecutive week SHR has tabbed Smith to fill in for Busch, who was indefinitely suspended by NASCAR two days before the Daytona 500. Smith finished 16th in the Great American Race.

SHR did not name a driver beyond Atlanta. The No. 41 is sponsored by SHR co-owner Gene Haas, who is noncommittal about fielding the car past this weekend.

Smith is a full-time driver for JR Motorsports in the Xfinity Series and the 2008 Sprint Cup rookie of the year. He could drive the No. 41 without conflict until mid-May. He has one victory in 173 premier division starts.

Busch was suspended when a Delaware Family Court commissioner determined evidence showed he physically assaulted ex-girlfriend Patricia Driscoll during an incident inside his motor home Sept. 26 at Dover International Speedway. Busch twice appealed the suspension, failing both times.
