Team Xtreme Racing reported the missing trailer and car early Friday morning with crew chief Peter Sospenza calling authorities at 5:52 a.m. ET, according to a police report obtained by SB Nation. The dually trailer was unmarked.
The team had parked overnight at the Drury Inn in Morrow, Ga. Surveillance video showed a newer model Jeep Cherokee pulling into the parking lot around 5:30 a.m. with the trailer and the race car inside seen leaving shortly thereafter.
The missing car is valued at $250,000, according to the police report. Also inside the trailer was a backup engine valued at $100,000 and $17,500 worth of equipment.
