Joe Gibbs Racing president J.D. Gibbs announced Wednesday that he is undergoing treatment for symptoms impacting areas of his brain function.
Joe Gibbs Racing president undergoing ‘brain function’ treatment
J.D. Gibbs, the president of Joe Gibbs Racing and son of NFL Hall of Fame coach Joe Gibbs, is undergoing testing and treatment for an issue related to his brain.

An exact diagnosis of Gibbs’ condition was not revealed, only that he has experienced “a gradual onset of symptoms that includes speech and processing issues,” likely stemming from a brain injury suffered years ago. However, doctors couldn’t specify the exact cause. Gibbs has begun treatment, and while he will continue to have a day-to-day presence at JGR’s headquarters, his time at the track will be limited.
