The threat of an isolated shower or storm remains in the weather forecast for Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Dover International Speedway in Delaware. The threat is not very high but the cold front approaching the state from the west could spark some hit or miss showers and storms.
2015 NASCAR at Dover International Speedway race day weather forecast: Could there be rain?
An approaching system could spark a few isolated showers and storms, but how much of an impact could this have on the Sprint Cup race at the Monster Mile?

It will be warm and muggy Sunday afternoon, which is a great environment for pop showers and storms to form. In this situation, it’s not what you see on radar you have to worry about, it’s what you don’t. That means one minute the radar looks clear, then the next, isolated cells are forming and some could form near or right over the race track. This is a challenging forecast because you don’t know how many, if any, storms or showers will form and if they do form where they will form. Radar will need to be monitored through out the race for any shower or storm development.
The odds of racing and getting a complete race in is around 75 to 80 percent. I just can’t rule out the isolated chance of a shower or storm causing a potential delay.
