NASCAR At Daytona 2015: Coke Zero 400 with a chance of rain

Showers and thunderstorms remain in the weather forecast this weekend for Daytona International Speedway. Most of the storms will be of the hit or miss variety Saturday and Sunday night.

Showers and thunderstorms remain in the weather forecast this weekend for Daytona International Speedway. Most of the storms will be of the hit or miss variety both Saturday and Sunday and mostly during the afternoon and into the early evening. A couple storms could move over the track late in the day and the evening on both days. That means delays and even rain stoppages are possible. Sunday looks like it has the highest threat for scattered storms and showers around Daytona International Speedway.

I am not anticipating a washout but I am nervous about any showers and storms. My odds for racing the Saturday night Xfinity race is around 75 percent, my odds for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race is still around 60 percent. I think a storm or two are possible during the late afternoon and evening leading up to the race but diminishing as we get into the mid to late evening.
