2015 NASCAR At Watkins Glen: Race day weather: Sorry, but it’s going to be dry

Dry weather and sunshine at Watkins Glen International may leave a few fans feeling a little down on Sunday.

This may be the first dry race day weather forecast that will disappoint fans. NASCAR Sprint Cup series will be tackling the second road course of the season at Watkins Glen International, and many fans and even drivers wanted to race in the rain. Unfortunately for them, that’s just not in the forecast.

Weather for Sunday’s Cheez-It 355 will be partly to mostly sunny and nice with race temperatures near 80 degrees. Earlier this week NASCAR announced that it was prepared to race both the Xfinity series as well as the Sprint Cup series in the rain this weekend at Watkins Glen if the weather turned wet. That idea had many fans and drivers excited about the rare opportunity for NASCAR Sprint Cup to race in the rain.

Sadly for those who wanted wet weather, they’re getting dry and sunshine and their going to have to like it.
