NASCAR at Chicagoland Speedway 2015: Rain showers Friday night

The only weather concern this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway is Friday night for the Camping World Truck Series race, with developing rain and storms.

A storm system developing and moving out of the Great Plains will create showers and storms Friday night for Chicagoland Speedway. I expect these showers to cause major problems for the Camping World Truck Series race.

Showers and storms will begin moving into the area between 4 and 6 p.m. CT. It looks like we will see a steady onslaught of rain and storms Friday evening into early Saturday morning. The odds of running the Camping World Truck Series race Friday night are less than 25 percent.

The rest of the weekend for the Xfinity Series and Sprint Cup Series races looks very dry and pleasant with cooler temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
