NASCAR Sprint Unlimited 2016 weather forecast: Starting the season off right

To many fans, the 2015 season felt like one rain delay after another. Will a dry start to the 2016 season be the rule or the exception for the long NASCAR season?

It’s finally here, the start of the 2016 NASCAR season. After what felt like one long rain delay, we get to start fresh with a new season and hopefully drier weather than what we had in 2015. This isn’t a long range weather outlook for the 2016 NASCAR season, but a weekend forecast for the Sprint Unlimited and pole qualifying for the Daytona 500.

Weather for Friday and Saturday looks very nice for Daytona International Speedway. It will be nice and warm on Friday, with highs getting into the low to middle 70s with lots of sunshine. Saturday is not bad for practice or the Sprint Unlimited, but as a dry cold front works through it will be cooler and breezy for Florida standards. Highs will be in the 60s during the day but could have winds between 15 and 25 mph.

That same front stalls and could spark an isolated afternoon shower. While Sunday looks mostly dry there is still a chance of a shower for pole qualifying Sunday afternoon.
