The Sprint Unlimited race on Saturday night at Daytona International Speedway gets the ball rolling on the 2016 NASCAR season, whetting our appetite for racing though in an unofficial capacity since the race is an exhibition before next Sunday’s Daytona 500 at the same track.

Seeing Jeff Gordon at Daytona is nothing new, but his role is. Gordon will be wearing a different kind of suit on Saturday, calling the race as an analyst in his first assignment for Fox after retiring as a driver. Gordon, who won the Sprint Unlimited in 1994 and 1997, will be in the booth with play-by-play man Mike Joy alongside fellow analysts Darrell Waltrip and Larry McReynolds.
Matt Kenseth won the 2015 Sprint Unlimited Race, and is among Saturday night’s 25-driver field, comprised of 2015 pole winners, plus past champions and pole winners of Sprint Unlimited or the Daytona 500.
Chris Myers will host Fox’s coverage, which begins at 8 p.m. ET, alongside analyst Michael Waltrip at the Hollywood Hotel, with pit reporters Jamie Little, Matt Yocum and Vince Welch.
Danielle Trotta will host two hours of pre-race coverage beginning at 6 p.m. on Fox Sports 1, with analysts McReynolds and Kenny Wallace, plus reports from Welch and Kaitlyn Vincie.
