A violent crash that saw Christopher Bell barrel roll a minimum of 10 times marred the finish of the Camping World Truck Series season-opener Friday night at Daytona International Speedway.
2016 NextEra Energy Resources 250 results: Wild finish sees one driver flip, Johnny Sauter win
Christopher Bell was transferred to a local hospital where he underwent a precautionary evaluation before being released early Saturday morning.

The field had taken the white flag lap when a multi-truck accident broke out just past the start/finish line. Among those collected was Bell, whose truck went nose-first into the outside wall and then began flipping wildly.
Bell emerged under his own power from the crumpled No. 4 Toyota and walked to a nearby ambulance. He was first taken to an infield care facility before being transferred to a local medical facility for further evaluation, per a NASCAR spokesman. After being examined, the 21-year-old driver for Kyle Busch Motorsports was released early Saturday morning, the team said in a statement.
All other drivers involved were evaluated and released from the at-track care center.
Johnny Sauter was leading at the time of the caution, and because there were fewer than two laps remaining the NextEra Energy Resources 250 was considered an official race. Ryan Truex finished second, with Parker Kligerman third, Brandon Brown fourth and Travis Kvapil fifth.
The win was the 11th of Sauter’s career and came in his first start with GMS Racing. He credited Bell with pushing him into the lead and Sauter was directly in front of Bell the No. 4 truck broke loose.
“Got to thank him for pushing me first of all, and then I hope he’s okay,” Sauter said.
Eight laps before the final wreck of the evening, an 18-truck accident necessitated a red flag of nearly 28 minutes.
