Fight breaks out during NASCAR Truck Series race

Judges scored the fight 10-8, 10-9, 10-8 in favor of John Wes Townley.

A prolonged fight featuring a takedown resembling something straight out of WWE erupted between John Wes Townley and Spencer Gallagher in the final laps of Saturday night’s Camping World Truck Series race at Gateway Motorsports Park.

Upset over Gallagher spinning him earlier, Townley seemingly retaliated by deliberately wrecking himself and Gallagher with seven laps remaining. The two drivers then got out of their trucks and began exchanging words, which escalated into shoving, then grappling and from there Townley wrestling Gallagher to ground, later putting him into a headlock and landing a couple of punches to Gallagher’s head.

Because track workers didn’t intervene, the “fight” went on for an extended period of time before Townley and Gallagher were eventually separated. The two were taken in separate ambulances to the infield care center where both were examined for injuries.

Christopher Bell won the Drivin’ for Linemen 200.
