Brickyard 400 results: Kyle Busch wins at Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Busch outclassed the field in winning the Brickyard 400 for a second straight year.

Busch started on the pole and proceeded to lead 149 of 170 laps to win his second straight Indianapolis race comfortably over Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Matt Kenseth. A rash of late-race cautions erased Busch’s advantage, but on each subsequent restart the defending Sprint Cup champion was able to quickly pull away and distance himself from the field.
“This Toyota was awesome today, it was just so fast and able to get out front and stay out front,” Busch said. “Not even some of my teammates could challenge.”
Jimmie Johnson finished third, Denny Hamlin fourth and Kyle Larson fifth.
The win was Busch’s fourth Sprint Cup win of 2016. He also won the Xfinity Series race from the pole by leading 62 of 63 laps on Saturday.
Tony Stewart finished 11th in his final Indianapolis start. The native of Columbus, Ind., is retiring at the end of the season.
Jeff Gordon, substituting for the injured Dale Earnhardt Jr., finished 13th.
