Brad Keselowski and Dale Earnhardt Jr. are good friends, and Keselowski credits Earnhardt for providing him a big break that put him on the path to becoming a NASCAR Cup Series champion.
Brad Keselowski honors Dale Earnhardt Jr. with special Talladega paint scheme
Brad Keselowski’s No. 2 Ford this weekend will resemble the car he used to drive in the Xfinity Series for the team Dale Earnhardt Jr. co-owns.

It is no surprise then that Keselowski is honoring the retiring Earnhardt, and doing so with a special paint scheme on his Team Penske Ford for this weekend’s race at Talladega Superspeedway.
The design on Keselowski’s Miller Lite-sponsored car will mirror the U.S. Navy-sponsored livery he had when he scored his first two Xfinity Series wins while racing for JR Motorsports, the team Earnhardt co-owns. Keselowski will also have on the rear quarter panels the message: “#Cheers2DaleJr.”
Keselowski made 84 Xfinity starts for JRM from 2007-2009, winning six races and twice finishing the season ranked third in the series points standings. That performance compelled Roger Penske to sign Keselowski and promote him to Cup full-time in 2010. He would win the Cup title two years later.
“Dale and I are great friends, and as many of you probably know, he gave me a chance to drive for him in 2007, and that opportunity changed my life,” Keselowski wrote in a blog post on his website. “I was very, very fortunate to drive for him, and to have his help building a career. I don’t know if I’d be where I am without him, but I’m glad I don’t have to find out.”
