Dismissing reports to the contrary, Dale Earnhardt Jr. says he will not be joining the cast for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. will not be competing on ‘Dancing with the Stars’
NASCAR’s most popular driver says he has zero interest in participating on the dance competition TV show.

According to HollywoodLife.com, producers for the popular ABC dance competition TV show wanted Earnhardt and NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick as its top contestants. But in a tweet posted Tuesday morning, Earnhardt used a GIF to emphatically shoot down the rumors.
Earnhardt, 43, later expounded on the tweet Tuesday night while speaking to reporters prior to a charity event in Las Vegas.
“That’s never going to happen,” Earnhardt said, per NASCAR.com. “I promise you. There’s nothing in this world that would be able to get me out on the dance floor.”
Earnhardt is NASCAR’s 14-time most popular driver and retired from full-time competition on Nov. 19 following the season-ending Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He and his wife, Amy, are expecting the couple’s first child in May.
Earnhardt has already announced he will join NBC Sports as a NASCAR analyst when the network broadcasts the second half of the Cup schedule beginning in July. NBC executives have also stated Earnhardt will have a role in its coverage of Super Bowl LII and the Winter Olympics, both of which are in February.
