Mother Nature wasn’t ready to let NASCAR open its 2017 Saturday night at Daytona International Speedway, as steady rain forced the postponement of the Advanced Auto Parts Clash exhibition race until Sunday morning.
Rain postpones NASCAR exhibition Clash at Daytona
The exhibition race that was to open the season is reschedule to Sunday morning.

The rescheduled event will start at 11:35 a.m. ET, with Fox Sports 1 providing television coverage.
The non-points race featuring a select group of drivers was to start at 8:24 p.m. ET Saturday. However, approximately 30 minutes before the green was schedule to wave, a steady rain dampened the 2.5-mile track. Once the rain slowed, NASCAR deployed 20 Air Titan track drying systems and 10 jet dryers to expedite the drying process, though that was thwarted when the rain increased. It takes upward of two hours to completely dry the surface.
Brad Keselowski will lead the 17-car field after winning the pole position via a random draw on Friday. Denny Hamlin, the defending Clash winner, will start alongside Keselowski on the front row.
