The 60th edition of the Great American Race gets underway on Sunday afternoon, with the 2018 Daytona 500 from Daytona International Speedway in Florida, the start of the new NASCAR season.

Fox coverage of the race starts at 2:30 p.m. ET with pre-race coverage beginning at 11 a.m., with online streaming available through Fox Sports Go. But the green flag to signify the start of the race isn’t until 2:49 p.m.

Alex Bowman will start in pole position on Sunday, not a bad start after taking over full time in the No. 88 car with Hendrick Motorsports after the retirement of Dale Earnhardt Jr. after last season.

“I never thought it would have happened after the path my career took. I’m so thankful to be able to do this,” Bowman said after qualifying last Sunday. “I’m very blessed to be able to call driving a race car my job, and now to get to drive what I think is the best race car in the business, it’s a dream come true.”

Kurt Busch is the reigning Daytona 500 champ and on Sunday will look to be the first repeat winner of the race since Sterling Marlin in 1994-95.

Mike Joy will call the Daytona 500 for Fox alongside Darrell Waltrip and Jeff Gordon, with in-race analysis from Larry McReynolds.
